Happy Halloween!

Are you dressing up this year? Are your kids?

Costumes are the most fun part of Halloween for me (now that I've gotten over the candy craze, AKA the phase of my life where I could eat whatever I wanted and not gain an ounce). Granted, I didn't exert a whole lot of energy for this year's costume. While I thought it would be cool to get a blonde wig and go as Ann Romney (with Husband as Mitt, of course), we decided to choose something more traditional.

I'm the slightly shorter one.
We decided not enough people do the ol' sheet-with-eyeholes anymore, so we took it upon ourselves to bring back the roots of Halloween to rural Idaho. I did, however, put black mesh over the eyes for a slightly more "ghostly" look.

What costumes are blooming on your side? I'd love to hear about them!

  1. I'm not a fan of dressing up, much to hubby's dismay. That's his favorite part and every year he's disappointed that I just don't seem to care about it.

  2. James is out of town again this year. Krysta decided to be a witch with the green face make up and all. I'm being a ghostbuster and Ezekiel is being a ghost. I'm excited! Ezekiel is wearing a white sheet and a white beanie. I figured the sheet over the head would drive him nuts. Have a happy Halloween.

  3. The logical thing would be to beam over to my blog to see my costume:

  4. One of my kids was a burnt marshmallow, it was amazing. He was like those bouncy-house things that blow up... you know what I'm talking about? He had to turn himself on and he'd blow up and it was hilarious :)

  6. James and I were Ann and Mitt Romney. Except James had a binder "full of women" and I had dots on me like I was a page from the book. HAH! Love the ghosts!!! Miss you!

  8. I didn't dress up this year, nor did I make my kids' costumes like I usually do. Just been too sick, tired, and busy. Managed to find a bat costume for Liesel (she wanted to be an orange bat, but I talked her into a black bat with purple wings). She'd had her heart set on it since the day after last Halloween. Got a secondhand but nice Blue (Blue's Clues) costume for Erin. Including the shipping, they were about $20 a piece, which is about what I would have spent for patterns and materials. Saved on labor.
