All Around Update: Writing, Baby, and the Secret Project

On writing:

Working on revisions for THE GLASS MAGICIAN; having a hard time really getting down and dirty with them. I usually dump my gooey rough draft straight onto my alpha readers, but, like it's predecessor, TGM needs a pacing revision first. Gotta get my brain in the game!

On pregnancy:

The most dramatic development this week: Reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder. From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over two inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce.

Was doing a lot better last week, but yesterday the nausea struck again. Husband has been incredibly patient with me and my whining. :)

On the secret project:

Made minimal headway this week, but at least it's headway!

What are you guys working on this week?

  3. Glad you're able to make some progress, even if it's slow.

Hang in there. It gets better soon. The second trimester is the best part, IMO. ;)

  5. Ugh, good luck, darlin'. I hope you can have a better pregnancy in the long run than I did. And cherish that husband of yours! I spent my second pregnancy basically without mine. I sat on the couch and spent a lot of time not doing anything at all. :P

  6. So happy for you and your hubby. Building a new person in your insides can be pretty nauseating business but it's wonderful that hubby is their patiently by your side.

Good luck with making whatever headway you can in writing :)

Still lots of recovery from vacation and editing going on in my neck of the woods.
