#WIPmadness Check-in: Roundin' Up April

Head's up, guys! Mother's Day is just around the corner, so make sure you break from that manuscript long enough to send her a card!

(I actually transcribed this video and used it in a church talk yesterday...)

Last week was hectic for my writing! I have two deadlines for two different manuscripts (one of which is DONE, thankfully, the other of which will make this week hectic as well). Throw in a baby who suddenly wants to eat every two hours instead of every three and a husband swamped with thesis work and you have hysteria at the Holmberg residence. (Silver lining: the LDS missionaries came over and cleaned my place on Wednesday since I haven't had time to do it in forever. Woo!)

As soon as this second manuscript is turned in, I'll have a large swatch of breathing room until the next round of edits hit my desk. In the meantime, I hope to start my own edits on my Eastern-based romantic fantasy. I'm excited to get back to it!

This makes four weeks of #WIPmadness on the blog. Looking back over the month, what have you accomplished, or wish you had accomplished? What are the writing goals for May?

~*~

ALSO, for a self-plug, I got my cover for The Paper Magician! You can see it here. :)

  1. Thanks for hosting #wipmadness here all month, Charlie. It sounds like you've been experiencing a big dose of "real life" lately. My month of writing hasn't produced as many words as I hoped, and I really can't blame it anything except myself. But I'm continuing to plod ahead, hoping greater enthusiasm and plot bunnies will miraculously materialize before long. ;)

  2. One huge accomplishment for me had to be reading through my rough draft without editing it. I usually will just edit and get 'stuck' in that mold and not finish.

Yay, on the LDS missionaries helping! I've had them go visit my mother-in-law at her assistant living place as she's probably the only member of the church in the building.

    Thanks for hosting!

  3. Yes, thanks so much for hosting in among your busy life, Charlie! This month has been rather hectic for me as well. Not as much writing done as I would have liked, but I'm glad I got any done with everything I had going on from house guests to out of town events. I'm looking forward to some down time (aka writing time) in May.

  4. What a lovely cover. :)

I had a lot of twists and turns this month, more outside of the WIP than in it, but revisions are are going well and I've got a supplementary novelette series project to go with the parent series that I'm doing in a live workshop for the next six months with Holly Lisle and a few hundred others. Should be interesting.

I'm also taking French Level 2 in a compressed summer session, so I shall be busy in the coming months in multiple languages.

    Looking forward to May!

    Cheers,

    Tonette

  6. Sorry, girl! Last I heard in March, after the madness ended was that we were breaking for April. I took a break from Twitter and cut back on my blogging to get some edits done, and I missed all these posts. I happened to get on Twitter today to see if there was a May host, and I found a retweet with your blog. I apologize for not visiting all month!! I just never knew we were doing it. Hugs! And thanks for hosting. :D
