After seeking help from a recent writer friend on Twitter (@lroseriver, go follow her!), dear Lora wrote A Synopsis Checklist for those of us struggling to summarize our work; she also includes some excellent references. Whether you're at the final stage of your WIP or not, check out the post.
In other news, I've gotten more beta reader feedback and hope to start querying next week! Just in time for Christmas...
Great news about that beta feedback. Wishing you the best of luck for when you start the query process.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for the link. I struggle terribly with the query and the synopsis so I appreciate helpful references.
Oh you're so close, Charlie! ... I would almost say, if you can wait, to wait until after the holidays to query. You know how the holidays are for us plebeian workers; I'd imagine that agents are in the same overworked, hurried, sidetracked boat in the coming weeks.
ReplyDeleteNo matter, though, I'm gift-wrapping huge boxes of LUCK and sending them your way :)
Thx for the shout-out.

I bet your book is ridiculously amazing. Because I've read your stuff before and you're awesome. I hate the synopsis part. I wish I could pay someone to write that for me.
ReplyDeleteYay for beta feedback! And boo for synopsis. I hate them. :P Good luck with querying!! :D
